Today’s class we started with the discussion about various renowned places in Mumbai. Mumbai is a city which is known for its distinctive neighbourhood, its culture, various tourist spots etc.
Few of us from Mumbai were appointed a task. We were supposed to list down places which are famous in Mumbai and give a brief information about those places to people who aren’t from this city. We managed to list down 60 names ( Banganga, Colaba causeway, babul nath, Haji Ali, sea link, flora fountain, CST, Powai lake, Dharavi, Juhu beach, prithvi theatre, film city, Crawford market, asiatic library, Zaveri bazar, iskon temple, Pali Hill, leopald cafe, tower of silence, mount Mary , NCPA, marine drive, dhobhi ghat etc).
This exercise helped us in exploring more about our city and there were many such places in Mumbai which I was unaware of. Some places which we wrote didn’t even need a brief information but there were many such places which even Mumbaikars had never heard before.
