In today’s class , since i had finalized my topic last class i started with making rough layouts for my booklet. I was confused about my layouts, I was contemplating whether i should keep one single layout throughout the entire book or keep different layouts for different civilizations. I had a discussion about this with sir and he told me to look at a few books and search for a few layouts and then go ahead with whatever i feel would look best for my book.
After doing a basic research on different kinds of layouts i decided to go ahead with making different layouts for different civilizations. I begun with making rough layouts on the paper .
I showed my layouts to sir , he liked them and told me to go ahead with it. Along with working on my layouts i also started with a bit of my research work for the content. I was yet left with deciding my color palette but i thought of doing that once i start making the layouts.
As i researched and saw examples of different layouts i learnt that even a simple layout could make the book attractive. I also noticed that almost all coffee table books had more of pictures and illustrations compared to writings and i tried to incorporate that in my booklet too. I thought of adding more pictures and kept my content minimal.The research work for each civilization helped me understand the history of boats and their evolution till date which i wouldn’t ever bother reading about otherwise. I also grasped a lot of knowledge about each civilization.
