In Today’s class we started making our model. We were using wood as a base for the leg. We had a block of wood which had to be shaped into a cylinder according to the measurements taken. We used to the lathe machine to do that. We also made a technical drawing to explain the concept to sir which included all the measurements. After we were ready with our base , now we had to cut the base into two equal halves so that we could wear it on our leg. Sir told us to make a box with mdf for the frustum because it wouldn’t stay stable while cutting it.
After making the box we realized that the frustum would still not stay stable inside the box while cutting, so we decided to take a risk and cut it directly with a drilling machine. We got two halves of the frustum. To join the frustum we were using hinges on one side an magnets on the other. After we cut the frustum we started putting hinges and magnets.
For the hand we used metal and rivets to join the metal.
