For today’s class we were supposed to submit our final prints. Later sir informed us about our next project which was a coffee table booklet.
A coffee table booklet is described as something that a person browses through to kill time and gains some knowledge from it. It is focused through thought processes . It describes a story in the simplest manner. It is a like a picture booklet for adults.
Sir also got a few coffee table books along with him so that all of us could get a better understanding about how are we supposed to make our booklets. We were also informed that for this project our imaging class was connected with our objects as history class.
We were supposed to select an object. We had to draw the objects importance through timeline and civilizations . The page size was supposed to be 10 by 10 inches , the font size was supposed to be 12-14. Sir told us that the cover of the book is supposed to be hard bound and he suggested all of us to design a book jacket for our coffee table book. He also mentioned that the pages produced should be in the multiples of 4 because it would become easier to print the file. For printing sir suggested us to use laser jet print and ink jet print. I also learnt and realized that one of the most important part of the book is its color palette. The color palette could change the entire look of the book.Working and printing had to be done in CMYK only. The information had to be bold and clear. The entire book was supposed to have only 4 fonts.
After a discussion about the book we were now supposed to come up with a few categories which would like to work on. I came up with 4 categories 1] Ornaments, 2] Boats , 3] Technology , 4] Culture I then had a discussion with sir and told him to help me come down to one topic. Sir told me to go ahead with Boats as my topic and he gave me a list of a few civilizations which i could research about and go ahead with for my final book, the 4 civilizations were Phoenician, Egyptian, Greek and Chines civilization. I was excited to work on this project because i would get to explore a lot of things through this one project.
