What is history ? History is the study of the past as it is described in written documents. History relates to the past events as well as the memory , discovery , collection , organisation , presentation and interpretation of information about these events. History is a subject which increases the curiosity level to know more about your past.
We started with discussing about Stone Age. Stone age was a broad prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make implements with an edge , a point or a percussion surface. Stone Age is divided into three distinct periods :- 1. The Paleolithic Period (Old Stone Age) [ 30000 – 10000 BC ] 2. The Mesolithic Period (Middle Stone Age) [ 10000 – 8000 BC ] 3. Neolithic Period (New Stone Age) [ 8000 – 3000 BC]
Excarnation :- In archaeology , the term excarnation refers to the practice of removing the flesh and organs of the dead before burial.
What makes a civilization ? Civilization describes a complex way of life characterized by urban areas, shared methods of communication , administrative infrastructure and division of labor.
Earliest known civilization in Mesopotamia is SUMER CIVILIZATION . They were known for their innovations in language , governance , architecture and more. Sumerians are considered the creators of civilizations as modern humans understand it . Sumerian was also used in writings. Sumerians were the first society to drink beers . They developed a system of measurements and invented wheels.
Arcadian was the official language. They had a warrior culture. Arcadian art was a continuation of the Sumerian art. The world’s first poet was an Arcadian :- ENHEDUANNA
Jericho was known as the city of palm trees . It had a settlement which built walls . Jericho had 20 settlements. It is famous in the biblical history as a source of archaeology.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is an earliest example of a written fiction piece of literature. It is a poem from ancient Mesopotamia. It was originally written in 2100 BC in the Akkadian language.
The first epic of the Hindus were written in the GUPTA AGE.
